WELCOME TO GOLDEN BEACH - CYPRUS

Big Sand Beach is 20 kilometres past the mountain village of Dipkarpaz and 1 kilometre from the St.Andreas Monastery. Just follow the sign as you come through Dipkarpaz to the Andreas Monastery and keep driving on the same road for 20 kms. Look out for Big Sand Beach on your right hand side. If you get lost or are not sure just give us a call. You will pass signs to a few other similar places going towards the beach but keep going until you see the Big Sand sign and you will see that we have the unique position of being both on the road and beach – the best of both worlds.

There is a large parking area to the front of the restaurant where cars can be safely left. If you want to visit us for just a drink or lunch and maybe spend some time on the beach that is fine. You will be very welcome.

We can organise trips to see the Karpaz turtles during breeding time (from middle of June to middle of September) with local Official Turtle Patrol Group - Free of Charge

WHERE IS THE GOLDEN BEACH ?

You can spend the day sunbathing and swimming on the beach where you will find miles of golden unspoilt sand with fantastic clear blue sea and the great thing is that the beach is never crowded so is always very peaceful.

There are a couple of places of interest nearby: the St.Andreas Monastery and the Cape where you will see the Turkish and Turkish Cypriot flags flying side by side on the top of a hill overlooking the sea. This is the most northern tip of Cyprus and as far as you can go. The Cape is not an advertised or marked tourist site but one of the staff at Big Sands will be pleased to direct you there. This is definitely a site worth seeing whilst in Northern Cyprus especially at dusk to watch the sun set. The nearby traditional village of Dipkarpaz has some very good quality restaurants worth a visit and you will find the quality of service and hospitality of the people there very high. You will also find small shops and supermarkets there. This is one of the few places you will find in Northern Cyprus where Turkish and Greek people still live side by side.
